Some local fora have been the target of a strange advertising/spam campaign where fake accounts post large blocks of apparently random text.  Our fair forum has seen a few of these in the last week.  I will be keeping an eye out for such posts and wielding the Banhammer as needed.  I invite the other admins to join me in glorious anti-junk combat.

Lots of activity this morning.

I don't even understand the point of some of these automated spambots.  Not only is the post content way longer than the average forum user's attention span, but they seem to be ... well ... Mad Libs.

At least they're entertaining to read.
