Hay folks I just installed front and rear strut bars on my 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage. A lower tie bar came with the kit as well but there were no instructions or illustrations.  Where does the lower tie bar bolt on the car i can't seem to figure it out. This may be a silly question but i don't mind looking silly if it gets me an answer.

Hey Phil,

I'm assuming the lower tie bar is for the rear?  If so, it typically joins together the innermost rear lower control arm mounting points...at least that is what it does on a Civic.

Something like this: http://media.photobucket.com/image/lower%20tie%20bar/jonathanboyd2006/My%20Car/LowerTieBar.jpg

They also make front lower tie bars for certain cars which tie together two points on the subframe.  Rear lower tie bars are more common.

Justin thanks for the reply on the tie bar that's exactly where I thought it went but I wasn't sure.

you might also want to look for a rear sway bar kit and camber plates. AFAIK the USDM mirage does not have this. this does wonders to neutralize the under steer. when i used the mirage before for autox and hill climbs it was a very easy car to drive.
