Before I did any auto-x I sim raced alot. A whole lot!!! Anyhow it's starting to get dark early and starting to get cold. So today I dusted off m good ole simulator, fired up iRacing and did some laps at silverstone in a prototype car! I forgot how much fun sim racing is. Anyhow here is a shot of my simulator! ECCI Wheel with all the bells and whistles (http://ecci6000.com/6000_wheel_01.htm)! a cockpit made out of PVC pipe with a Honda seat! I also have some butt Kickers (http://www.thebuttkicker.com/) to simulate bumps and going over rumble strips! A big ass monitor and I have a shifter I can add to it. I use paddle shifter most of the time. This along with iRacing is as real as it gets without being real. All I'm missing are the g forces and I can crash a million dollar car without any worries!
Any other sim racers out there?

That's a sweet setup you've got for iRacing!  I play Live For Speed every now and then, mostly in the winter.  It really helps to practice concentrating and picking a line and trying to drive it.  You can also set up autocross courses in LFS which is neat, though the narrow field of view can be frustrating with the tighter turns.

I've got a few projects for the '95 Civic to get it ready for some more track days next year.  I need to corner weight it.  I also have a full-width radiator to install and I may try to run some brake ducts.

I should spend a lot of time going through the wiring harness and cleaning everything up.  The previous owner (or whoever put the wiring harness in) liked to twist and electrical tape wires together.  No soldering, not even crimp-on connectors.  This was on my list last year, but I never got the motivation to tear the car apart since it runs fine for the most part.

I have a Logitech G25 mounted on a Playseats Evolution chair.  I run the setup through a PS2, a PS3, and a Media Center PC to my TV.  Haven't gotten into iRacing yet, mostly because of the subscription cost (I don't even have cable, so I get to gripe about even the cheapest subscriptions).

Sim racing is fun, but I prefer some actual racing - karts, baby!  Just moved back to Fredericksburg, and - holy #$% - the G-Force folks have just opened a new track here.  WooooHoooo!!!

About 8-12 of us are meeting up online with Forza 3. We've built a spec Civic and a muscle car\trans am series. Fun times!

No crap!  I've been in a couple of pro stock simulators, and it's really hard to enter turns!  Braking from half-way up the straight-away seems so very foreign.
