226  Events / Other Events / Anymore driving schools planned? on: January 11, 2006, 09:57:31 AM
Good to hear Pasha Pattttttttttterson..( damn that sticking key). I might want some extra track time since im still considered a Novice. I'm Currently working on a 1987 Jetta I purchased recently and in the process of freshening up the drive line. (Tranny, clutch, driveshafts and wheel bearings) . I havent gone far enough to see what Stock class im in. (Unlike the MINI) Only possible changes on the car that i can tell are Possibly Lowering springs and a big ol' Fart can exhaust. If you have any Tips or other things i should be looking for I would be grateful.

Thanks for the complement. Just wait until i put some R'compounds  and adjustable shocks on it . Right now it only has el cheapo lowering springs on the stock shocks. with $39.99 tires in the back and 65.00 in the front :p  Yeah i know David driving it helped alot too.:bouncep:

If you like as long as your not registered for the first heat. you can co-drive my MINI. That is of course if Jon hasnt gotten the M3. It will be the Second time running on the current tire combo. (hankok 212's on front and Ziex's on the back)  With this i finally got the car to rotate and get rid of that god awful push ive been having. David from the School on the 19th seemed to like the combo and how the car was working.

Good to know about the Fun run.. but im fine with that anyway. If you still want to ride along with me im ok with it. I really dont stand a snowball's chance in you know where of winning in the class im in. So im doing it for fun anyway. As for the weather.. it really effects it as far as im concerned. if its below 40's i dont do them. im not the cold weather person i use to be and cant take it long enough to beable to do the Turn Marshalling or Cone Snaggin. That is required for the event. Also with my back i can barely do them in good weather. I do believe for summer wise. Its done Rain or shine everyone still has to run on the same track which makes it fair.. maybe not during a Pouring Hurricane type rain.. but wet yes.

The "others' thank you daniel. I'll bring the window paint and a few spare helments. Since this is the last race of the season. If you like you can do both a ride-a-long and a run yourself, But your run would be considered a Fun run and not a competitive run. Not like your in the points chase or anything (yet).  Or better yet you can have your wife to do the the ride-a-long...  .. um on second thought maybe not Cheesy
