Just wanted to see if there's a tentative date for the 1st autocross? Thanks.
7  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: March 02, 2009, 03:31:13 PM

I can't believe how long that rx8 holds onto its power curve And Rogers Z06 numbers are incredible .
Unfortunately, my RX-8 was "broken" when I had it dyno'd. When replacing the coils the weekend before, I broke off a vacuum line that goes to the airbox. I didn't think much about it and just ordered a replacement part from Mazda.

When some "RX-8 gurus" looked over my dyno graph, they commented that peak power should have been made in the 7-9K range, while my power curve was flat at that point. Turns out the vacuum line I broke off opens up the Fresh Air Duct (FAD) at 7,250rpms which shortens in the intake runner path for the high rpm "power mode". So I not only had a small amount of air getting into the intake after the MAF, the FAD didn't not open above 7K rpms.

Looks like I'll be giving Kevin @ PAS a call later this month to get my car re-dyno'd for a true baseline. As luck would have it, the parts from Mazda arrived Saturday afternoon when I got back home! I replaced the part in 35º weather yesterday (not fun!) and she should be running like normal right now.

David,

Michael Mimms and I will definitely be there tomorrow. Michael drives a Cobalt SS supercharged.

That's awesome news. Keep signing up people - the more the merrier!
12  Events / Autocross / Re: 2009 Schedule on: February 16, 2009, 01:08:00 PM
Does anyone know when registration for the 3/1 event will open?

Thanks!
13  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: February 14, 2009, 08:35:42 PM
Count one more for the 28th! My friend Michael Mimms will be coming with me to dyno his Cobalt SS S/C.
14  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: February 13, 2009, 08:09:20 AM
Perfect. Thanks for the info Kevin.  Those numbers seem right inline with what I've been reading for Mustangs.

Cool. I'll see you guys on 2-28 at 10am sharp!
15  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: February 13, 2009, 07:05:43 AM
Thanks. Sounds good!
16  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: February 12, 2009, 10:28:45 PM
The dyno sheet that John posted was from his BMW M Coupe.

Thanks for posting on BRR.

We are halfway to the 10 we need. Anyone? Anyone?

David

Thanks David. FWIW, I could be there on 2/28 regardless of whether we reach 10 people or not. $65 for 3 dyno runs with afr's and a print out is still a good deal. Cool ($55 though is even better!)
17  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: February 12, 2009, 08:07:21 AM
I don't think he meant no printouts, just no changes

p.s. he did let us make changes like air filters, etc, but no "tuning" between runs, so maybe he will do that again

John
John,

That dyno you posted was for what car? Would you say it is a low reading or high reading dynojet? Anyone know what a stock '05+ Mustang GT puts down on this dyno?
18  Events / Other Events / Re: Dyno Day on: February 12, 2009, 07:32:31 AM
Here is the list. Date choices are 2-28 and 3-14.
Add your name if you can go and note if there is a date you CANNOT do.)

David Ogburn
John Harmon
Justin Loehlein
Adrian Amos (?)
Chike Dellimore (cannot do 3-14)

I've added myself to the list. Interested in the numbers my BS RX-8 makes. I can only do the dyno on 2-28. On 3-14 I'll be in GA attending the Dixie NT.

P.S. I'll post this on the BRR-SCCA forum. Might get a few more people from there.

I had to leave. Did VMSC retain the trophy?

David
The VMSC retained the trophy - they claimed the top 5 PAX positions.

Results can be found here on MyAutoEvents.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this such a great event.  Please post if you find anything that needs to be corrected.

See you in November!
Thanks - any reason the '07 PAX values were being used?
