8  General / Classifieds / ANY INTEREST IN AN AUTOCROSS TRAILER? PRICING? on: May 27, 2008, 01:54:05 PM
Anybody know what a autocross trailer would go for?  I'm thinking of getting rid of mine.

48 x 42 (close)
good tires and paint
large poly tool box mounted in front
pvc tube where tires rest.

Not sure what to ask for this.  Let me know.  I'll work on getting pictures it's been in my garage since I last autocrossed.

Thanks.

Hey, Guys and Girls.  Long time no see.  I guess I'm going to try and part with my MGB. Cry  As you may remember it threw a connecting rod about a couple years ago.  I've torn it apart and really decided I don't have the skills to take on the project.  It has a lot of good parts.  Has a new top which is stored, and I all parts are stored and labelled.  Let me know if you are interested and would like to make some kind of offer.  Thanks.

14  General / Technical Help / MAJOR CELICA PROBLEM--CRACKED BLOCK on: February 02, 2007, 05:47:59 AM
Guys,
I know a lot of you work in the automotive business.  I've got a major problem and I'm trying to fix it.  I took my 2000 Celica gt to Priority Toyota when the engine light came on.  I've had neck surgery and my wife was driving it after it sat for a few days.  The engine light came on, she pulled over, and the light went off.  She drove about 5 miles to her parents house and parked the car.  AAA towed it to Priority.  They said it was smoking when they pulled it off the flatbed.
The next day I was called and they said it was a bad head gasket.  I told them to fix it.  They called back a day later to tell me the block is cracked.  This in no way effects my relations with Priority.  They've done nothing wrong, I just can't afford the labor.  They're good guys and helped out where they can.
I have a feeling the previous owner didn't take very good care of this car.  Nothing I did would have caused this.  Too many of them have been autocrossed much harder.
I need to try and find the bottom end of a Toyota 1ZZFE motor.  I'm going to try and put the thing back together myself once my neck is strong enough.  Right now, I can't lift over 5 pounds for the next 5 weeks.  If I don't try to fix it myself, I'll lose probably $4k on this thing trading it in, instead of possibly breaking even and continue driving it.
I'm going to be looking everywhere, so I appreciate your help.  I'm hoping I can get a car temporarily from my boss.  If not, I'll have to find some cheap transportation.  I can't drive for another 4 weeks, so it's not an issue as of yet.
I know I haven't been out with you guys much, but I'm hoping I can rely on some club friends and relationships builit over the years.  Thanks in advance for any help and for listening.

16  General / Open Forum / GOING UNDER THE KNIFE!!! on: January 17, 2007, 08:35:24 AM
Well, some of you know, I've been having a lot of trouble with my neck.  I'm going to have a disc removed tomorrow and will be out of work for a bit.  Hopefully, come summer, I'll be able to come out and play with the car again.  Not to mention start trying to complete the MG.
I've been messing with music again, because it only takes a few hours to practice or do a show.  I've been able to stand that.  The full days on the autocross stage just would have been too much this year.
Hope to see all of you soon.
17  Events / Autocross / GIVING UP PERMANENT # on: November 01, 2006, 02:39:49 PM
Hey everyone.  I'm going to give up the #25 number for preregistration.  I have a variety of things keeping me away and there just isn't time for full day events.  I apologize for failing to edit my last couple of entries, but again, that's the way things have been going.  Thanks for your patience.  Hope to see some of you soon.
18  Events / Autocross / Not going to be able to make it on: October 22, 2006, 05:54:41 PM
Guys, I'm really sorry I forgot to unregister.  As you know I haven't been around the scene.  I've been unregistering as the event comes up, but I did forget this weekend.  I've had a messed up summer with my neck and other things.  I just have not been in the frame of mind to autocross.  I'm doing other things for fun, but with the ruptured disc in my neck, the long days at the course or a rally are just too much for me.  Hope to talk to you all soon.

#26 is available.  Have fun!
20  Events / Autocross / USAA Insurance on: August 02, 2006, 06:04:40 AM
This seems to be a growing trend, Chuck.  I went with Hagerty insurance on the MGB instead of Grundy.  Grundy had a similiar statement, but this year Hagerty updated theirs to include the same wording.  It's a, 'you can't autocross or rally', conspiracy!:grr:

The make, model number, and size of the battery may be changed
but not its voltage. Relocation of the battery or batteries is
permitted but not into the passenger compartment. If the battery is
relocated and the original battery tray can be removed by simply
unbolting it, the tray may be removed, or relocated with the battery.
Holes may be drilled for mounting or passage of cables. Longer
cables may be substituted to permit relocation. The number of
battery or batteries may not be changed from stock. The area
behind the rearmost seat is not considered to be within the
passenger compartment.A

See, it says the voltages can't be changed.  If it were just quantity, Bill, you'd have the answer.  I just don't think the old 'B' was thought about when they wrote the rule.  Maybe if I get mine finished, I can get a blessing from the VMSC board to run the one 12volt.  Like I said at the beginning though, with the rate my restoration is going, I'm just talking through my hat.Smiley

I'd still like to hear what opinions are out there though.:bounce:
25  Events / Autocross / Interesting STS2 observation on: July 27, 2006, 02:53:28 PM
I don't think that's it.  STS let you relocate your battery.  Good thought though.
