I like the tire rack stuff. I feel like they are worthwhile. The tire tots in particular were fantastic.

Yes the Hankook RS3 are considered Street Tires. Just look at the results of this year's SCCA Solo National Championships for all the Street Touring classes. Not sure who told you they weren't or why.

I would say BSP. There's a street tire pax class that you could run if you didn't want to do R-Comps. The removal of the soft top throws you out of STR on a National level and maybe the diff.
Not sure, but with the whole re-org happening I'd just wait til season starts again before getting new magnet letters.

I would go but looks like the Evo's clutch is starting to slip Time to look into different clutch options. Anyone got a lift and be down for working on a clutch sometime in January or February? lol Pizza and beer on me haha.

General / Technical Help / Re: Coilovers for Evo X

I take the scientific approach to tuning. Isolate one variable and work from there. So first the coilovers set up (ride height, alignment, corner balance), then coilover tuning (rebound/compression), then if I can't get what I need from there I'll add swaybar(s).
Just don't want too many variables at the same time to where we don't know what exactly is causing what.

I know nothing about Evos or setting up an AWD car. You may want to head over to sccaforums.com and see what the popular setup is in BSP.
I have to second what Chris said though. The tires will make a huge difference, plus a proper alignment. I'd probably go with some Kumhos though, they'll last longer.
Yea problem is almost all the BSP Evos are VIII & IX. Hardly anyone has tried to build a strong X due to the extra weight Sucks that you can't set up an AWD car Justin. Was hoping when I got these coilovers, you'd help me fine tune it lol.

Get Hoosiers and a spare set of rims ! Unless you already have them coilovers will net you .5 secs hoosiers will net you 3.0 seconds and you can stay in stock class !
lol I'm not stock class as is. I'm already in BSP. Agreed on the tires though. I will have a extra set of rims, just don't know if I'm ready for the purple crack yet.

General / Technical Help / Coilovers for Evo X

So in a quest to get rid of some of that horrible body roll, understeer, and maximize the car, I'm starting my winter build early and searching for coilovers!
I've seen some good deals new and used online, so please give me your suggestions, opinions, and advice. If there's something else you guys & gals preffer or a different spring combination, let me know.
AST 4100 with 9k springs front & 10k springs rear for $1750. Add Vorshlag camber plates for $400 and rear shock mounts for $200 = $2350 give or take.
Ohlins DFV Road & Track with 9k springs front & 10k springs rear, along with camber plates and rsm for $3200 - $3400.
Ohlins DFV Road & Track with CBRD valving and 10k springs front & rear, camber plates, and rsm for ~ $3400.
JRZ RS with 9k springs front & 10k springs rear with camber plates and rsm for $3200 - $3400. (Slightly used)
Car will be running on 18x10 or 18x10.5 wheels & probably Nitto NT01 next season.

General / Technical Help / paint/body shop

Anyone know of a good paint/body shop in the area? Preferably Fredericksburg or the surrounding area. Had the bumper off today while installing an AMS front mount and the wind blew the bumper over and scratched it up.

No sir, my Scion tC is completely naturally aspirated and the mods I have done to it are all dealer options (100% TRD parts) and include springs, rear sway bar, front strut tie, and an axleback exhaust.
I talked to Justin about it, and he said that it should be classified as HS.
The 05 Scion xA that was there is very tuned with a turbo and redone suspension, and that is classified as SMF
Technically dealer installed options are not the same as factory options. I would call your car an STS car I think. Really doesn't matter though because its all for fun anyways.

Thanks for getting the results up so quickly. Nice job on the course as well. It flowed very nicely and made maximum use of the lot.
I don't think this was classed correctly - XHS 62 Walker Schutze 05 Scion tC.
It had an aftermarket turbo on it, among other mods.
David
Great! So that moves me up to the first spot in the Street Tire Index Class right

Hey guys and gals, My name is Hai and I'm new to the Virginia autox scene. I'm hoping to catch your last autox of the season. Used to autocross a STi in STU with the TVR region in Huntsville, AL. Haven't done it in almost 2 years since moving up here. Now currently driving a stock (so far) Evo X.
Is there anything I should know before Nov. 14? Since I'm stock and on factory street tires would it be more appropriate for me to run B Stock, STU, or do you have a street tire class?
Thanks and looking forward to running with ya'll
