3  Events / Autocross / COVENTRY COMMONWEALTH GAMES OF VIRGINIA Autocross on: June 22, 2006, 04:57:30 PM
Donna and I have taught up on the Danville Airport surface 2 years now and we love it. Grip is great for STS (azenias) and I always push hard when I run there. The runway is long and two cars are not a problem. If you haven't been there, you're gonna love it. It is open, so bring plenty of sunscreen, a pop up, hats and water. There is a Food Lion right next to the hotel and several fast food places and nicer restaurents up the road a copuple of miles. The pool is nice and alot of us gathered there Saturday night.

I think Jeff and Keath are running the rally Saturday because of tthe points, but Donna and I are Autoxing both days. :bouncep:

Looking forward to seeing everyone from BRR, and the gang from Carolina.

Have a great 4th and drive safe!!:p

Audie

Hey everyone,

Checkpoints is a little late because we are tryting something new and you know how that can go. :ouch:

As soon as the checkpoints PDF is uploaded to the web site you will get and e-mail notice and all you have to do is click on the link and click on CHECKPOINTS on the VMSC website and there will be a beautiful color copy. :bounce:

With all the pictures and results I can't send the PDF to 100 of you form home. This will eliminate the "winfile" problems as well. Soooo I should be shooting you an e-mail tomorrow morning. Keep your fingers crossed.

See you all at the race Sunday,

Audie:stupid:
7  Events / Autocross / O.D.s for this weekend (6-18) on: June 13, 2006, 03:31:56 PM
Who ever ends up doing June 18th race:

1. I am taking the trailer over to RRC for you. I took it to get a checkup at Chesterfield Trailer so I'll take it back to autocross site.

2. I need to know who is ODing because I will need to let RRC know when you will be setting up. Either late afternoon Friday or Sometime on Saturday.

Thanks,
Audie

To Chris & Brent:

I hope your first OD experience was as fun for you guys as it was for us!!!!!!!!!!!!:bouncep:My hats off two you both.

The course design was great; good use of lot and you all worked really hard to put on the event. I've had the pleasure of watching you both come up over the last few years; you've both become outstanding drivers and goods friends. Chris; thanks for the ride-along at the end of the day! I'm looking forward to your next event as I am sure everyone else is.

10  Events / Autocross / I learned some new tricks - may be dangerous now!! on: May 27, 2006, 05:53:44 PM
I just wanted to thank all the instructors for whom without the school would not have been possible. I aslo want to thank all the students!!!
You all were great to work with and the day flowed right along.

Everyone made great improvement and I'm looking forward to see most of you run tomorrow. I'm with John H. I'm sore and tired! I guess that's what comes with not being under 45 anymore. But I can still drive a pretty mean civic when I want to.

I am looking forward to Brent & Chris' autocross tomorrow.

Everyone should take a hot shower, soap off the brake dust and get a goon nights sleep.

Thanks for a wonderful day,

Audie
11  Events / Autocross / AX school Question on: May 06, 2006, 11:26:02 AM
Hey,

2 things:

1) If you take the school, the autocross will only cost you $15.00, members and non-member alike.

2) If you take school there are 20 spots held for you in the registration site for the event. If you go in and register, I will open up one of the held numbers of 101-120. It would be veeeeeery helpful for Genie if you would go ahead and register so we are not guessing the morning of the race as to who is comming and who is not.

I will keep checking to see who has registered and who has not, so you do not have to do anything, just register like a regular event.

Two people who have registered for school have perm. #'s so that opens up 2 spots right there.

Any questions, call or e-mail me. 739-8350

Anyone who doesn't get a checkpoints and wants to see the rules and regulations send me and e-mail, at
car-crazy@peoplepc.com and I will send you one ASAP.

The really important points are to avoid putting your car into the fence, keep your trash picked up and no burnouts on Laburnam or the RRC property, and the other things Joe listed.

One other thing, you can jacvk your car up anwhere on the property without placing something under it EXCEPT the black top running area. Aside from the trailer, that shouldn't be an issue.

If you need copy of newsletter, let me know.

See everyone on Sunday.

13  Events / Autocross / MARCH 19th AUTOCROSS on: March 15, 2006, 01:17:45 PM
Thanks to everyone who signed up for Sunday.

I noticed that the website reports the Richmond Raceway Complex parking lot to be almost the size of VMP. This is not correct. I mentioned the dimensions at the last club meeting and in the newsletter: roughly 716' long and 215-245' wide depending which end you are on.

It is a little bigger than Manchester, but is is new asphalt and flat.  I just wanted to set the record straight before people show up and see that it is not the size of VMP.

REMINDER: gates open to public at 8:00am.  OD's and event personell will be there at 7:30. There are several places to get lunch within 32 miles and there is a gas station across the street.

We will be using the restrooms in the exibition hall this monthe and then the restrooms next to us will be open the rest of the year.

ONE CHANGE: DRIVERS WILL SIGH WAIVER AT REGISTRATION, but all spectators in your cars or in their own car will have to sign at the gate.

I am loking forward to seeing everyone and I know everyone will put their best foot forward at the new site.

I am working on that right now and should know something, good or bad, by Sundaay's autocross. I will get it up on the registration link ASAP when I confirm.
