I made a composite video of my runs for heats 2 - 5. I know the angle is not the best, but I just got my hood/bumper/headlight painted and didn't want to put the suction cup up there yet.

OK, loaded my photos into flickr so they should be easier for people to download.

Thank you, Eric. These look good and lots of Miatas. Smiley
I like this shot of my locking the brakes and the trail of smoke.

Travis, what software do you use to combine video clips?

I am using the "free" version of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0.  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/  .....

I'll come up with a quick tutorial or find one to get you started.

Here is a 4-part tutorial. I'll be honest and say I did not watch this, but I skimmed through them very quickly and it covers the bases.

Here is an example of a video I made combining 4 runs into one video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SygVr5ytKUk

Hey Beth,
I am using the "free" version of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0.  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/

The software is a real PITA at first. I've been using Photoshop for over a decade and Premiere killed me for the first hour or so until I watched a few tutorials on youtube.

I'll come up with a quick tutorial or find one to get you started.

Thank you for the nice pictures. They are always greatly appreciated.

David, it is not a problem, but just in case you did not notice, starting at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ogburn/9003827050/sizes/l/in/set-72157634040278838/ the rest of the pictures are 1024x768 whereas the previous pictures are 2464 x 1632.

Thanks again.

Yep, just helping out. Smiley

Thank you, Robert. There are also a bunch of Corvettes in GS.
9  General / Technical Help / Re: Brake Rotors on: June 03, 2013, 04:56:37 AM
From what I have read before, slotted rotors are more durable than drilled. Slotted still allows hot gas to escape. Everything expands and contracts with heat and cold. The more holes, the more areas that expand and contract individually, but against one another at the same time on drilled rotors.

Edit: a couple links

I combined the videos from Justin and Robert, using Justin's best lap from his video.

I started both videos at start/finish and you can see how Robert makes up a good amount of time on the straight after Oak Tree. The times shown at the end of the video are my best estimate going frame by frame at start/finish.

I hope you enjoy: http://youtu.be/WOj-lQjteB0?hd=1

The MR2's 2013 season debut!

Which car are you planning on running the rest of the season? I'm just wondering if I am going to have regular competition in DP class.
12  Pictures and Media / General Pictures and Media / Re: The "other" VMSC on: May 16, 2013, 08:09:05 AM
Yep. It's frustrating when I search youtube for VMSC and half the videos are from them.

(And thanks to Travis, whose absence gave me first place in class.  lol)
You're welcome. I had "permission" to attend, but I thought it would be wiser to skip the Mother's Day event.

I like the pedal light indicator. Do you have any info on that?

Very cool video.

Great event at MEP, thanks to all who made it possible.  Here's my video.

Nice composite edit. I will have to try something like that.

Here are some videos from my Miata today.
In the first run I forgot how short the slalom was and completely missed the turn-in point for the u-turn. I almost spun at the end of the second run, but I managed to save it.

Camera seems to have survived okay, that's something.
Yep. Maybe tomorrow I won't put it so low. Cones and sand probably aren't good to hit on a regular basis.

I killed a cone with my video camera today. It is about 40 seconds into the video. And my microphones were not working. Sad

There's a bunch of videos on youtube, however, most of them are at least several years old.

Just wondering, how does the number of off-course runs vary between heats?
I didn't include two of the Cutlass drivers because they didn't attempt a lot of their runs.

Heat one: 32 drivers, 112 clean runs
Heat two: 30 drivers, 99 clean runs

Heat 1 average 3.5 clean runs per driver
Heat 2 average 3.3 clean runs per driver

Heat 1 cones: 39
Heat 2 cones: 13

Heat 1 off/dnf: 15
Heat 2 off/dnf: 38
23  Pictures and Media / Pictures and Media from Events / Re: First event of 2013 (RIR) on: March 27, 2013, 03:38:57 PM
I synced 4 of my runs into one video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SygVr5ytKUk?hd=1

I saw a few people taking pictures. Did they get uploaded anywhere?
24  Results / Autocross / Re: 03/24/2013 Results on: March 27, 2013, 09:57:34 AM
I also made a spreadsheet. Using the non-pax times for novice and street tire and just using the best raw time for everyone gave different results. I also removed any non-clean runs.

Heat 1 average best time = 41.437
Heat 2 average best time = 45.930

Attached is my spreadsheet.

25  Results / Autocross / Re: 03/24/2013 Results on: March 26, 2013, 03:09:42 PM
I have a question about how novice and street tire times are reported. In the sections Summary Results and Detailed Results why are their best times PAXed when other classes show raw times?
