General / Classifieds / For Sale 1997 Miata

Edit for new price
For sale is a 1997 Miata with 141,xxx miles. The car has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, power windows, mirrors, cruise, AM/FM CD with door and headrest speakers. It also has leather seats and a Torsen limited slip. The soft top is almost new. The car also has a hardtop with defroster.
I added the following “optional” equipment in the last year.
Ground Control coil overs with 550 lb springs front and 350 lb springs rear. Koni yellow SA race shocks. Racing Beat 1 1/8” tubular front sway bar. Racing Beat front sway bar brace kit. The stock rear sway bar is on the car now, but I will include a Racing Beat big rear bar. 949 Racing adjustable end links front and rear.
Factory replacement brake rotors and stainless steel flexible brake lines from 949 Racing. Carbotech autocross compound brake pads front and rear.
In the engine bay there are Mazda competition motor mounts, Racing Beat High flow intake, Racing Beat Header with a Track Dog Thermal Blanket, and Magnecor 8mm wires. The timing is advanced to 14 degrees. Factory replacement clutch slave cylinder with stainless steel flexible lines from 949 Racing. There is a Koyo 37 mm aluminum radiator with Samco silicon hoses.
The car rides on Chapparal 15x7 wheels (they look like Minilites) and General all-season tires. There is also a set of 15x8 Bronze 6UL wheels from 949 Racing with used up Hankooks.
I also have a new set of factory alignment bolts and a shorty antenna that haven’t been installed. I have most of the stock parts I took off and a set of AGX adjustable shocks. They are also included.
I think $6500 is reasonable for everything or $5300 without the hard top and 6UL’s PM me if interested.
Ray

oh right, sorry. my name is John "Will" Krom. never sure which first name i put in where though.
"unless i didn't register properly..." That's it. You registered for an SCCA weekend membership, but didn't pick a day, class, or car number. You can edit your registration, or send me an email with the info and I'll do it for you.

That didn't look like 600 feet! (2 football fields) nothin wrong with a straight or two! It's racing. 50 -60 mph no problem. My worries are with the immovable objects (buildings) I think they pose more concern than anything else.
cool videos!
Thanks,
Gunny
I measured it with Google Maps!

Great video! Thanks for turning off the music during your run so we could hear that awesome engine. Sounds like your tires were picking up a LOT of gravel out there. How was the traction? The course reminds me a lot of the one they had in July. (Especially that long straight in the middle! Did anyone mention how fast they got going?) With the irregular layout of their blacktop, I imagine there are only so many options if you want to use as much of it as possible. So, everybody just needs to study that video to prepare for the BRR challenge at the end of this month! p.s. you made it onto the PCA photo page! http://shn.pca.org/archive/AX120908pix.php Here is my video from that event. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewv-h6sMysQ&feature=g-uplAs for the long straight, I had my foot to the mat for almost 9 seconds and two gear changes before braking for the left turn at the end of the straight. The BRR course maybe similar in spots, but our rules call for a maximum of 250 feet between course elements, so there won't be any 600 ft straights like that one.

So what is the deal with the event? the brr/vmsc challange is just on one day (sunday) correct?
Gunny
So that is a great question. Yes the BRR/VMSC Challenge is just Sunday. BRR also has a College Challenge where the local college car clubs and alums come out and compete. Usually the challenges are on separate weekends, but this year availability of the lot dictated that we do them both on one weekend. Since the challenges are "an event within an event" and are scored based on the results of the autocross, each day will run, and have the look and feel of a regular BRR autocross. Each day is a separate and distinct event. That is why anyone can run either or both days. The lot at Verona is bigger than RIR, but smaller than VMP, and is a bit bumpy in spots. Our courses are a good mix of fast and technical sections and run in the 50 - 60 second range. So all that said if you just want to come out for the VMSC portion on Sunday that's great. If you want to spend the weekend and autocross with us both days we would be honored to have you

Thanks for the quick results!
Just wondering though, why does it list Donna as last in SS when her time is clearly 2nd place? The time is correct (afaik) but the table just has them ordered wrong for some reason.
Yeah I was wondering how I beat John and I am next to last in SS? I cam in 9th overall in raw and I am 94th in pax? You should be 10th in PAX

Junior and Candy are BRR members? I would have thought they were DC Region members. And we still won!
Thanks.
David
Yup, BRR is their region of record. It surprised me too when I downloaded the member list last Friday. While most of our members are from the I-81 corridor we have some from central/eastern VA, MD, NC, PA, GA,TN, FL, and MI.

We pulled it off at RIR with time to spare but not quite as many people but that may help with shared cars running 5 minutes apart it would have to be a sub 50 sec course non crossing with 4 heats 5 runs, I have faith Should there be a cutoff # implemented ? OK, so the course should be 50-ish seconds for the fastest cars with starting a car every 25 - 30 seconds. That should be enough throughput to get all the runs in with the available daylight. That said here is how everyone can help. Where we lose the most time at these events is in the change overs between heats. When it is your heat to work, show up at the trailer early, get your assignment, and get on station quickly. When it is your heat to run have your car ready and come to grid when you are called. I'm looking forward to a great day tomorrow.

Due to a rained out event at VMP getting scheduled on 10/9, our 10/9 event at VMP has been moved to 10/16 at RIR. If you've already registered, you are still registered. If you have already paid and need to get you money back, I believe MyAutoEvents will issue a refund...if not, contact me via PM or email. If you need to register, it's open here on MyAutoEvents. Sorry for the late notice and any inconvenience this has caused. -Justin Justin, VMSC.org and MyAuoEvents list this event for the VMSC-BRR Challenge. BRR already has an event (our fund raiser for the Salem Roanoke County Community Food Pantry) at the Salem Civic Center that day. I spoke with Audie last week and we agreed to use your November 6 date at VMP for the Challenge. Ray
